A rollicking adventure book for preteens and teens 5_stars.svg

This was a very engaging story, and tough to put down. The characters were well-realized, and I have no doubt that many kids will identify with Alex. There are a few scary moments to frighten you, and a few really sweet moments to touch your heart, and an ending that will leave readers wanting for more.”

I would recommend this book for preteens and teens. It may be slightly less enjoyable for grown-ups because of Ward’s whimsical style, but for kids, it’s a gem. “

Action packed read, perfect for preteens 4_stars.svg

Korey Ward is off to a great start with his debut novel. It’s action packed and perfect for preteens. I enjoyed the storyline. It was entertaining. I loved the bond that develops between Angel, Nelson, and Alex. When Alex starts his new school, he was quick to be picked on as the new kid. But, Angel and Nelson both help him overcome it and soon discover there’s more to their hometown than they could ever imagine. Creatures live among the humans in secret and not all are good. Alex soon discovers secrets his grandfather was hiding and will need to use them to save his town and Dad. Him, Angel, and Nelson form the shadow seekers and work together no matter what they face.

Need More! 5_stars.svg

This is the debut and first young adult novel of Korey Ward, and while I didn’t expect a masterpiece, I did expect a good story. I was not disappointed! I picked this up at one of his book signings, I was intrigued. An author at my local library?

I feel that Korey L. Ward can really keep us entertained. Imagine my excitement when I realized there is a planned trilogy. Don’t expect a masterpiece, nothing ever is. Experience the deep characters, and learn how they suffer from real life problems, along with impossible ones. Your going to love this, and it’s not just for young adults either…”
